I was educated in Edinburgh and Aberdeen and gained a D.A. from Grays School of Art in Aberdeen. After I had some experience in the teaching profession I decided to work full time as an artist printmaker. I worked part time as studio technician for art tm, in Inverness for more than 12 years undertaking a variety of commissioned work as well as tutoring and supporting the exhibitions in art tm gallery and editioning for other artists, and latterly I assisted in the running of the studio. I have seen the print studio in Inverness go through many changes and I now make use of recently upgraded screen processing facilities, while completing most of the printing in the garage and studio at home.
For my recent body of work I have returned to screen printed landscapes but I have worked in monoprint and photo etch techniques and I make use of new forms of digital image manipulation. I enjoy working with other artists on projects and have been involved in community and school projects including fabric banners, editions on paper and large canvas mono-prints. In 2006 I took part in ‘Imagining the Centre’ producing 2 sets of larger than life portrait photographs with a small community group, for a one day celebration in Inverness City Centre. My work has been recognised by way of awards and selection for national and international exhibitions.
