FAQ's

Do I need to have any artistic experience to do a beginners class?
No our beginners classes are suitable for anyone regardless of experience.
Who teaches your classes?
Our tutors are all professional artists with many years experience of working and teaching their chosen techniques.
Should I bring any sketches or photographs to work from?
This is entirely up to you. Some people like to work from these; others might want to wait to find out more about the technique on the day and then come up with an image. If you do bring along some ideas, remember you might need to adapt the image to suit the technique.
Do I need to bring any materials?
No. All materials are provided.
What should I wear?
Anything that you don’t mind potentially getting a bit of ink on because the inks may not wash out of clothes. If you have an old apron you could bring that.
I have some printmaking experience so is the intermediate class suitable for me?
It depends on what you’ve done and how long ago you did it. If you have some printmaking experience please contact the studio an we will advise you on whether a course is suitable. It may be that you would get more out of doing the beginners/refreshers class first or that a bit of one-to-one tuition would prepare you for the intermediate.
Should I bring a packed lunch?
The Studio closes for lunch between 1.30 – 2.30pm and there are lots of lunch options nearby. There is tea and coffee making facilities in the Studio and drinks are allowed anywhere except the digital room at the top of the building.
