Photographic Printing

We have a dedicated digital suite at the studio for printing large format gallery quality photographic prints. Our dedicated team offer a bespoke service and will handle your files and images carefully and closely to ensure the prints are exactly how you want them. We are able to fine tune your images to should you wish. We can work on colour, tones and suggest/select the perfect paper for your print.

Our digital suite at the studio offers gallery quality printing for photographers. We have printed many exhibitions and work with photographers from Scotland, the UK and internationally.

Our large format printer can handle widths of up to 1100mm (44 inches), with most media being on a roll, so longer lengths are possible. We carry a wide range of archival papers of different surface finishes. Along with the inks, these provide stunning prints with superb longevity and a gallery quality finish. If you are visiting the Studio to print your work, you can check your images on our screens before sending to print, otherwise we are happy to produce test strips on the way to creating the finished print. We can also work remotely and can post out tests or finished prints.

In addition, we can mount prints on to foamboard for display, give advice on file preparation, or even help produce the print ready file. It is also possible to work from analogue photography with our high-quality scanner which can handle all film types or photographs on paper and we can work from those scans to make your prints on our large format printer. Please do get in touch with us if you need any support in getting your files ready for print.

We don’t just print photographs, we can also print your digital files for posters, banners, flyers and other printed items.

TESTIMONIALS

“My experience of working with Highland Print Studio had to be undertaken without me being able to visit the Studio. I received printed samples promptly by post and further discussions took place on the phone as to the best way forward. Thanks to studio manager John, I was made aware of paper options and the quality of the finished prints was outstanding. I have no hesitation in recommending Highland Print Studio for its excellent levels of craftsmanship and its sheer professionalism in dealing with the needs of clients.”

“Between 2017 and 2021 I was a Director of FLOW Photofest, a biennial international photography festival running across the Highlands and Islands… HPS was the organisation of choice. Their reputation for quality and timeliness in supporting fine art photography is well known and they were instrumental in making the festival a success.”
